Shri Garud Govind Ji Temple Vrindavan
This temple is like a big, beautiful home where devotees express their love for Lord Krishna. They bring him delicious food, flowers, and pretty decorations as gifts. It feels like attending a birthday party, as the temple echoes with devotional songs and chants. Here, Lord Govind Ji, also known as Lord Narayana, is seated on the back of Garuda. The temple is renowned globally for its influence in preventing Sarpa Dosha and Kaalsarpa Yoga, thanks to the presence of Garuda Ji. The darshan of Lord Shri Garun Govind Ji on Devuthan Ekadashi in Pachkosi Parikrama holds special significance.
At the feet of Thakur Ji, there is a captivating depiction of Satyabhama and Rukmini Ji, both being queens of Lord Krishna. Lord Narayana is manifested in this temple with twelve arms. An ancient saying about this temple goes, "Aath Haath Ko Mandir, Jame Barah Haath Ko Thakur" (A temple with eight hands where the Lord has twelve hands). Lakshmi Ji is present on the left side of Thakur Ji.

History of Garud Govind Temple
One day, while Shri Krishna was playing with his friends during cow grazing, he turned Shridam Sakha into Garuda. Playfully, he sat on her back, as if Lakshmipati Narayan himself was riding on Garuda. Even today, you can see images of Shri Ram Ji and Shri Govind Ji in the form of Garuda at this spot. In the Ramavatar, when Shri Ramchandra Ji was caught in the trap of a snake by Meghnad, Garud Ji appeared after a message from Devarshi Narad Ji. The snakes immediately let Shri Ramchandra Ji go upon seeing Garud Ji.
This incident left Garud Ji with doubts about the divinity of Shri Ram, but these doubts were cleared through the Satsang of Mahatma Kakabhushundi Ji and by later seeing Shri Krishna during Shri Krishna Leela. The wings of Garuda make Vedic sounds as he soars high in the sky. The place where Garud Ji saw Shri Govind, the caretaker of cows, is now called Garuda Govind. During that time, Shri Krishna assured him by climbing on his shoulder.
Another Legend says that when Garuda hatched from his egg, he appeared like a fierce firestorm, similar to the cosmic blaze that consumes the world at the end of each age. Worried, the gods prayed for his mercy, and Garuda, hearing their plea, reduced his size and power.
