History of Pagal Baba Mandir
This origin has a fascinating tale. In Hindu mythology, there was a humble Brahmin deeply devoted to Shri Banke Bihari Ji. One day, in need of money, he approached a moneylender who lent him the required sum with the condition of repayment in 12 instalments. The Brahmin agreed, returned home, and started repaying each month as promised. Everything seemed fine until he received a notice claiming he had not repaid the loan, and now he owed the entire amount with interest. Puzzled, he went to the moneylender to resolve the matter, but the moneylender led it to a court dispute.
During the hearing, the Brahmin explained his situation to the judge. The judge asked, "Is there any witness who can vouch for you?" After thinking a moment, the Brahmin confidently replied, "Yes, there is someone who will testify on my behalf – Shri Banke Bihari Ji." Surprise filled the air when the Brahmin claimed Shri Banke Bihari Ji as his witness. The Judge intrigued, sent a notice to the Banke Bihari Ji Temple, and on the next court date, an old man appeared to testify.
