Its captivating structure, crafted from red sandstone, is complemented by the presence of the KC Ghat, a beloved holy spot in the town. The Jugal Kishore Temple in Vrindavan is one of the most famous Krishna temples in Mathura Vrindavan which takes on a mesmerizing appearance, especially in the evening when the glow of lamps illuminates its surroundings.
The temple is situated near Jugal Ghat, along the path to Shri Radhavallabh Temple. In the Shri Yugal Kishor temple, there are a couple of deities (vigraha) that add to the divine ambience. Once a year, Sri Yugal Bihari leaves the confines of the temple for a palanquin procession.
Religious Importance
Despite the various Leelas performed by Lord Shri Krishna and Radha Ji in Shri Dham Vrindavan, the Leela of Shri Jugal Kishore Ji stands out for its uniqueness and wonder. History of Jugal Kishore Temple
The revered idol in this temple was discovered by Hariram Vyas on Magh Shukla Ekadashi in 1620 at a place called Kishorevan. Hariram Vyas ji put the statue at the same sacred spot. Following this, King Madhukar Shah of Orchha erected a temple near Kishorevan. Lord Shri Jugalkishore Ji resided in this temple for many years. Unfortunately, during the rule of Aurangzeb, many temples in Vrindavan were demolished by the Mughals. In response, devotees relocated the idol of Lord Shri Jugal Kishore Ji to Panna in Madhya Pradesh near Orchha. Presently, Thakur Ji continues to grace devotees with darshan in the old Jugal kishore temple of Panna. To this day, devotees continue to visit Shri Jugal Kishore Ji at Jugal Ghat in Vrindavan to immerse themselves in the memories of Thakur ji and feel blessed by the divine presence.
